Despite coordinated conservation efforts, vehicle traffic during breeding seasons is threatening vulnerable shorebird and seabird populations along the Coorong’s Younghusband Peninsula. BirdLife Australia has proposed the Coorong Shorebirds and Wetland Habitat Project to increase protective infrastructure and work with beach users to safeguard breeding areas.
